Vermin in a food business
If you notice a pest infestation in your food business, you will find the right contacts here.
Description
Private households and private properties:
Controlling pests in private households and on private property is generally the responsibility of the owner of the house or property. They can either use suitable pesticides themselves or hire a specialist company.
Only if the pests are rats that can transmit infectious diseases should you report this to the authorities. The health department is responsible for these cases. If you report an infestation, you must give your name and a call-back number as well as details of where and when you observed the pests.
Food businesses:
If you have observed an infestation of vermin (for example cockroaches, mice or rats) in a food business, then report this to the district inspectorates of the district administration department. They will then take a close look at the problem on site and take appropriate measures.
