Josephine Klock wins the Münchner Modepreis 2020
(11 March, 2020) Josephine Klock, Katharina Rapp, Tanja Salem and Caterina Goppert are the winners of this year's Münchner Modepreis (“Munich Fashion Award”). On March 10th, Deputy Mayor Manuel Pretzl presented the prizes after a spectacular fashion show involving all the nominees.
First place, endowed with EUR 10,000 in prize money, went to Josephine Klock for her L'ESSENCE collection.
Katharina Rapp with her DRAFT OF EVOLUTION collection came in second.
The battle for third place caused quite a stir. Both Tanja Salem with her LOSGELOEST collection and Caterina Goppert with her AURA: TOMORROW IS TIMELESS collection convinced the jury, with the result that the prize money was split between the two.
Strong participation
In the run-up to the show, some 4,000 fashion enthusiasts cast their votes online for the audience award. This prize – together with EUR 2,000 in prize money – went to Katharina Kittel for her HAPPY - GO - LUCKY collection.
On the day of the awards, a jury of independent experts spent several hours deliberating before finally deciding on the winners of first, second and third places.
Nominations had been given to nine graduates from the AMD (Academy of Fashion and Design), the Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode/Designschule München (German School of Fashion/Munich Design School) and the Mediadesign Hochschule (MD.H University of Media Design earlier.
