Immission control licence - application

Industrial plants that cause heavy air and noise pollution or use hazardous substances require a licence.

Description

Industrial plants that cause particularly high levels of air pollution and noise pollution or in which certain quantities of hazardous substances are present and are to be operated at the same location for longer than twelve months require a permit under immission control legislation before they can be erected and operated.

A list of these installations can be found in the Annex to the Ordinance on Installations Requiring Authorisation (4th BImSchV)

Prerequisites

An industrial plant requires a licence under immission control law before it is erected and commissioned if

  • it causes a particularly high level of air pollution and noise pollution or
  • it contains certain quantities of hazardous substances and
  • the plant is to be operated at the same location for longer than twelve months.

Required documents

Applicants receive a checklist on which the documents to be submitted are labelled.

Fees

The amount of the authorisation fee is calculated on the basis of the list of costs, taking into account the investment costs and administrative expenses. The minimum fee is 1,750 euros.
