Trading and brokering with waste

Anyone who collects, transports, trades in or brokers non-hazardous waste on a commercial basis or as part of a business must give prior notice of such activity

Description

A notification under waste legislation pursuant to Section 53 of the Circular Economy Act (KrWG) is required if:

  • the collection, transport, trading or brokering of non-hazardous waste is carried out on a commercial basis, or

If hazardous waste is collected, transported, traded or brokered on a commercial basis, a licence must generally be applied for in accordance with Section 54 of the Waste Management Act (KrWG).

As a waste collector and transporter, you are required to carry a copy of the notification under Section 53 of the Waste Management Act (KrWG) when transporting waste on public roads.
