Commercial waste collection and transport
Anyone wishing to collect or transport hazardous waste on a commercial basis generally requires a waste transport licence.
Description
Anyone wishing to collect or transport hazardous waste on a commercial basis generally requires a waste transport licence in accordance with Section 54 of the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) and the Waste Notification and Permit Ordinance (AbfAEV) .
This is to be distinguished from the so-called "works transport", which is still exempt from authorisation or notification until 31 May 2014, i.e. any collection or transport of waste on the occasion of another commercial or economic activity, such as the own transport of production waste.
The authority primarily checks the reliability and expertise of the applicant or the notifying party and the persons responsible for management and supervision.
Note: Commercial collectors and carriers are obliged to affix so-called A-plates to their vehicles when carrying out their activities on public roads in accordance with Section 55 (1) KrWG. These must fulfil the requirements of § 10 of the Waste Shipment Act (AbfVerbrG).
We strongly recommend a telephone or personal consultation before preparing the application documents.
