Questions & Answers

When using vehicles and combinations with a gross vehicle weight of over 2.5 tonnes, a permit is required if you are operating across borders, otherwise you only need to register the trade with the trade authority.

In the case of non-German nationals (especially those outside the EU), you must comply with the legal regulations for foreign nationals when taking up self-employment. Information can be obtained from the Foreigners Office.

In the event of a criminal record, disorderly financial circumstances, lack of a place of business or other serious negative findings about the applicant, their representative bodies or the professionally qualified person, the licence may be refused.
