Holiday care

As well as holiday programmes at the school, there are also numerous other options available during the holidays that parents can make use of:

If you are unable to find holiday childcare for your child, the Parents’ Advice Centre will advise you and help you find a solution.

How to secure a childcare place

Step 1: Registering for childcare You must register by 3 March 2027 (the final regular registration date). Register at the facilities that are suitable for your child. For crèches, nursery schools, cooperative all-day education, after-school clubs, children’s centres, day centres and some lunchtime care schemes, you can register online via the ‘kita finder+’.

Step 2: For school-age children only – school enrolment School enrolment takes place on 3 March 2027. Please go to your local catchment area school. On this day, you will enrol your child at the school. Enquire about childcare options at the school (such as open or compulsory all-day care) and enrol your child.

Step 3: Place offer Place offers will be issued from 4 March 2027 (start of the allocation process). The allocation process may take several months.

Step 4: Accepting or declining a place If you receive an offer, you have eight to ten days to accept the place. If you do not need the place offered, please decline it immediately, as other children are still waiting for a place.

Step 5: Further place allocations Further places will be allocated in the next rounds of place allocation.

Step 6: Support from the Parents’ Advice Centre If you have not been allocated a place, please contact the Parents’ Advice Centre.

Important note

Important note

Applications for a nursery place are usually made online via the Kita Finder+. Please register your child there by 3 March 2027 at the latest (the final regular registration date) at the centres that suit you. Places will then be allocated.

Required documents

If you have not received confirmation of a childcare place after the place has been allocated, please submit the requirements form so that the parent advice centre can assist you with the placement.
