European firearms pass
If you want to take firearms with you when travelling in the EU, for example on hunting trips or for competitions, you need a European firearms pass.
Description
You will need a European firearms pass when travelling in and through countries of the European Union where you want to take weapons with you, for example when hunting or taking part in shooting competitions. This serves to legitimise the weapons within the EU. In various EU countries, authorisation to import weapons must be obtained in the firearms pass before entering the country. In case of doubt, please enquire at the respective embassy or consulate.
The firearms pass does not replace the firearms possession card in Germany. If you are permanently transferring one or more weapons from one country to another, you will require an import or export licence.
