Amendment of the ancillary provisions (work permit)

If you want to change your job, you will need authorisation from the Foreigners Office.

Description

Ancillary provisions are additional conditions that can be attached to the residence permit. They regulate the work permit, for example. The decision on the ancillary provisions is made by the responsible Foreigners Office.

If you would like to change these, you canapplyonlineto change or cancel the ancillary provision.

Changing jobs

A residence permit for employment is tied to one company for the first two years. If you want to change companies, you need the approval of the Foreigners Office and, if necessary, the Federal Employment Agency.

You do not need authorisation if you have been working for your employer for at least two years with a residence permit for employment.
