Christmas market - authorisation for sales stand

Course description

The Munich Christmas Market takes place every year in the run-up to Christmas. Around 3 million people visit this Christmas market on Marienplatz every year. With around 180 market traders and an area of 25,000 square metres, the Munich Christmas Market is one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe.

Would you like to have a stall at the Munich Christmas Market?

The organisers are particularly interested in the following applications:

• traditional Christmas goods and stall decorations that reflect the old Bavarian, Alpine character of the Munich Christkindlmarkt
• Vendors offering demonstrations at their stalls
• Artisans
• Bavarian specialities (including organic produce)

Experience has shown that the number of applications will exceed the available retail space and facilities, so unfortunately we cannot consider all applicants. Please understand that we will only be able to make our selection after the application deadline. We will, of course, inform you of our decision in writing as soon as possible.

Required documents

A written application containing details on the following points:

• Personal details (address, telephone number, email address, website)
• Concept, presentation and description of the goods or services
• References, experience and activities in the travel industry
• Type and size of the business
• Preferred sales area or preferred town stall
• Images or sketches of the stall/layout/range of goods
• Technical specifications (electricity and water connections)

The deadline for applications for the Christmas market is 31 December each year for the following year(date as per postmark). The application deadline is a cut-off date. Receipt of the application will not be confirmed.

Applications do not confer any legal entitlement to approval or a specific pitch. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please only enclose documents with your application that we are permitted to retain. Application documents (photographs, copies, portfolios) will not be returned. Pre-paid return envelopes, envelopes and stamps are not required for the application.
