Deregister vehicle online (take out of service)

If your vehicle was registered after 2015, you can deregister your vehicle online.

Online deregistration is not possible for

  • Vehicles and trailers with interchangeable licence plates
  • as well as vehicles with licence plates that have not yet been re-registered in Munich

Prerequisites

  • The vehicle was registered from 1 January 2015. Only vehicles that were first registered or re-registered after this date have the required concealed security codes on the stamp stickers (seals on the licence plates) and on the registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document).

Required documents

  • Vehicle licence plate number
  • Security codes of the stamp stickers (seals on the licence plates)
  • Security code of the registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)

2.70 euros (plus 2.60 euros if you want to reserve the licence plate for a maximum of 12 months, only for the same vehicle and the same holder)
