Driving licence - new application after withdrawal or waiver

If your driving licence has been revoked or you have voluntarily surrendered it, your driving licence has expired and you must apply for a new one.

Description

Application deadlines:
You should apply for a new driving licence approximately six months before your ban expires.

Period of validity of evidence:
- medical certificate or expert opinion: one year
- Eye test certificate or ophthalmological report: two years
- First aid: no restriction

New EU driving licence:
A new EU driving licence was introduced on 19 January 2013. You can find a link to the most important information and an overview of the new driving licence categories under Forms & Links.

The decision as to whether and under what conditions you can obtain a new driving licence depends on the circumstances of the individual case. To this end, we carefully check all information (e.g. criminal record) and court decisions.

You can only apply for a new driving licence in writing. To do this, you must complete the application form "Re-issue of a driving licence after revocation or surrender" in full, sign it and send it to us with the required documents.
