Planter in front of a shop
If you want to set up planters in front of your shop, you do not need a special use permit under certain conditions. You can find all the information here.
Description
Anyone wishing to place planters in front of their shop does not require a special use permit under the following conditions:
- The planters are placed directly in front of the building facade of the shop
- A width of at least 1.60 metres remains free on the pavement, in individual cases significantly more (depending on the volume of pedestrians) and the planters do not obstruct the view.
- The diameter or edge length of the planter must not exceed 0.6 metres.
- The planters are easy to transport.
- The plants are real (not artificial) and in a well-kept condition.
- The townscape is not impaired. In the case of listed or ensemble-protected buildings, the Lower Monument Protection Authority must give its consent.
If certain requirements are not met as described above, we will check on a case-by-case basis whether authorisation is still possible.
Separate regulations apply to plants and greenery in open-air bar areas. The district inspectorate will inform you in individual cases if you have any questions.
