Show animal husbandry

Certain animal husbandry such as cattle, pigs or chickens must be reported to the veterinary office.

Description

The following animal holdings must be reported to the competent veterinary office (see Section 26(1) of the Livestock Traffic Ordinance):

  • Cattle
  • Pigs
  • Sheep
  • Goats
  • Solipeds
  • Chickens
  • Ducks
  • Geese
  • Pheasants
  • Guinea fowl
  • Partridges
  • Pigeons
  • Turkeys
  • Quails
  • Ratites

The notification of animal husbandry must be made before the start of the activity (planned acquisition).

The keeping of bees is also subject to the obligation to notify the competent authority (see § 1a of the Bee Disease Ordinance).

The Officefor Food, Agriculture and Forestry Ebersberg-Erdingis responsiblefor allocating the establishment number for the city of Munich. Farm numbers are allocated on application.

Complete the notification form with these details:

  • Name
  • Address and contact details
  • Number of animals and species expected to be kept
  • Location of the livestock farm
  • Farm number
