Business deregistration

In other cases, please make an appointment to visit us in person.

If you give up the operation of your business, the business must be deregistered. The same applies if you relocate your business to another municipality. You must then deregister your business at the previous location and re-register it at the new location. If you relocate your business within the municipality, a business re-registration is sufficient.

Special case: duplicate:
You can apply to us for a duplicate of the deregistration certificate. The fee is 15 euros. Send us your application by e-mail together with a copy of your ID. You will usually receive the duplicate by post within a week. We will also send you the invoice for 15 euros.

Prerequisites

You canderegisteryour businessonlinefor the following types of company:

• Sole proprietorship (registered and unregistered)
• Companies under civil law (GbR)
• Limited liability companies (GmbH, also non-profit GmbH)
• Business company (UG also limited liability)
• Please note that the registration process for the following company forms is only possible for natural persons as shareholders. Please register one or more persons as shareholders directly at the trade office.
  - Civil law partnerships (GbR)
  - Registered civil law partnership (eGbR)
  - General partnerships (OHG)

In other cases, please submit the business deregistration by e-mail with the required documents (see "Required documents").

Required documents

• Fully completed "Business deregistration" form
  (important: please state the date of business closure)
• Copy of identity card or passport
• Trade licence or copy of the trade licence
• if authorised: a written power of attorney and a copy of the identity card of the principal and the authorised representative
