You must give at least 6 weeks' notice before commissioning or significantly modifying systems that use or store substances hazardous to water.

Description

Substances hazardous to water are, for example, heating oil, diesel, petrol or waste oil.

Prerequisites

Above-ground installations for liquid substances hazardous to water must be notified if the volume is

  • greater than 100,000 litres (=100 m³) for substances of WGK 1,
  • greater than 1,000 litres (=1 m³) for substances of WGK 2 and
  • greater than 220 litres (=0.22 m³) for substances of WGK 3.
