Business deregistration
If you give up your business in Munich, you can deregister it here.
Course description
Important change to the trade regulations from 1 November 2025: Business deregistration is no longer required when moving to another city or municipality. Only a registration in the new city or municipality is required. This transfers the data from the business registration to the authority at the previous location.
This is how online deregistration works:
- Start deregistration
- Register with Bayern ID (eID not required!)
- Upload documents
- Pay online
- Receive trade licence by post
Questions & Answers
in the case of partnerships (e.g. BGB companies, OHG, KG), the partners authorised to manage the business must register as traders.
In the case of legal entities (e.g. GmbH, AG), the legal representatives (e.g. managing director of a GmbH) are obliged to register.
No, deregistration is also possible by an authorised representative. An informal power of attorney with identification of the person granting the power of attorney and the authorised representative is sufficient. When deregistering online, the power of attorney is uploaded during the registration process.
In principle, it is possible to visit the Trade Licensing Office in person after making an appointment.
We recommend that you use the online deregistration process.
- If you are representing another person, a power of attorney is required.
- Please remember to show your ID/passport when you visit us in person.
