Biodiversity building blocks funding programme

We provide financial support for the implementation of biodiversity building blocks. The funding programme is managed by the municipal biodiversity advisory service.

Description

Within the "Biodiversity Building Blocks" funding programme, we promote measures such as

  • species-rich wildflower meadows (prerequisite: native seeds)
  • species-rich, native herbaceous and shrub plantings
  • Nesting and resting places (insects, bats, birds)
  • Habitat building blocks (dry stone wall, pond, deadwood and natural stone piles)
  • structurally rich and ecologically valuable resident gardens

in principle, up to 50 per cent of the total costs of the measure(s) are reimbursed, in individual cases up to 90 per cent.

Prerequisites

You can apply for funding if:

  • your area is available to at least four residential units or to the public
  • the measure is voluntary and has not yet been started
  • You guarantee professional follow-up maintenance
  • the area is maintained and cared for for at least five years

Required documents

For a successful application you will need

  • complete application form
  • Description of measures and action plan
  • Proof of total costs
  • Power of attorney, if applicable
  • Consent of the property owner, if applicable

Duration & Costs

Processing time

  • Contact with biodiversity counselling before implementation of measures , on-site appointment to discuss the project idea (approx. 5-7 working days)
  • Application, obtaining three offers (approx. 2 weeks)
  • Realisation of the measure (approx. 1-2 weeks)
  • On-site acceptance with the biodiversity consultant, prompt payment of funding (approx. 2 weeks)

Fees

there are no fees or costs on the part of the biodiversity advisory service.

Questions & Answers

  • You can draw small measures yourself. The important thing is that we can recognise your idea. This helps us:
  • Location in the urban area (drawing in an aerial photograph)
  • Information on types, materials, techniques etc. used in the plan
  • Size details in the plan
  • Example action plan

The biodiversity advisory service will be happy to advise you.

For more extensive projects, it may make sense to commission specialist planners. This can be financed proportionally via the funding programme. If you are unsure, ask our biodiversity advisory service.

you must enclose three comparative offers with your application. If you only receive one offer from three providers, this will also sufficein conjunction with the documentation of your two other requests for proposals.

Our offer for you: To ensure that the three offers are as comparable as possible, we will be happy to develop a list of services together with you. You can use this to invite three companies or providers to submit a tender.


we can charge you €12.15 for simple labour or €14.15 for more complex work. You must state this in your application with an hourly estimate. With your proof of utilisation, you must submit the actual hours spent in a comprehensibly documented manner.

yes, we will generally reimburse 50% of the costs incurred. To do this, you must submit a where-used list with all invoices. You will receive a template for the proof of utilisation together with your confirmation of inspection for your application.

  • In principle, all species originating from Munich(area of origin 16 or area of occurrence 6.1.) are eligible for funding.
  • Due to the different location requirements of the species, it may be that not all species are suitable for your project. We would be happy to look at the desired species and your area for your specific project together with you. Please contact us before submitting your application.
