Travel document for stateless persons

If you are stateless, the Service Centre for Immigration and Naturalisation can issue you with a travel document for stateless persons in individual cases.

Course description

In principle, foreign nationals must present a valid national passport. Whether a person is stateless must be checked on a case-by-case basis by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service Office. The travel document can only be issued for the duration for which the residence permit is valid. The travel document is valid for a maximum of three years.

Prerequisites

  • You are registered in Munich
  • You are stateless
  • You have a valid residence permit

Required documents

The documents submitted (such as proof of identity and language certificates) will be checked for authenticity. Further documents may be required in individual cases.

Please submit the required documents online or by post. After submitting your online application, you can download a completed document as a PDF for your records. Once we have checked your application, you will receive an appointment for a personal interview.
