Promotion of plug-in solar devices (FKG)

If you are planning to purchase a plug-in solar appliance, you can apply for a subsidy.

Description

Funding is available for the purchase and subsequent installation of plug-in photovoltaic power generation devices (including plug-in solar devices, PV balcony modules or plug-and-play systems) up to an output of 800 watts peak (Wp) per residential unit.

The subsidy rate is EUR 0.40 per Wp, up to 800 Wp per residential unit, up to a maximum of 50 per cent of the eligible investment costs.

Note on "Application before order!"

After submitting your application, you will receive the message "The measure(s) applied for may be commissioned" via the funding portal.

Only then may you purchase the device or commission the installation. If the invoice date is before the application date, the application must be rejected.

Prerequisites

All binding information can be found in the directive. Here are the most important points in brief:

The following applies in the Climate Neutral Buildings (FKG) funding programme:

  • Funding is only available for buildings within the city limits of the City of Munich.
  • The applicant is responsible for the investment costs. This means that all orders, invoices, etc. must be issued to the applicant and paid from their bank account. The funding amount is paid out exclusively to the applicant's bank account.
  • The principle of "funding application before order"is mandatory for applications
No contract for the measure may have been awarded yet. An order placed with an executing company or a proof of purchase before the application is submitted will prevent FKG funding!
  • Private individuals who have their main or secondary residence in the city of Munich are eligible to apply. The applicant must be resident in the residential unit in which the device is installed and connected to the home network.
  • The application must be submitted exclusively online in the municipal funding portal.

Required documents

No documents are required for the application.

If the application is to be submitted by an authorised person representing the applicant, thepower of attorney form must be submitted.

Oncethe device has been put into operation, the proof of use must be created in the funding portal and the required documents uploaded to the funding portal.

  • Identification document of the applicant
  • Invoice(s) for the entire plug-in solar device (including all relevant components/parts: Module(s), inverter, etc.)
  • Completedself-declaration form for plug-in solar devices
  • For Munich Pass holders: valid Munich Pass

Duration & Costs

Processing time

After submitting the application and receiving the notification in the funding portal with the subject "The measure(s) applied for may be commissioned", the device can be purchased or the installation commissioned. The device must be put into operation and the documents (proof of utilisation) uploaded within a period of one year. An extension of the deadline is not possible. In the case of joint applications for the "plug-in solar devices" measure with the "photovoltaic systems" measure, a deadline of three years applies.

Applications are processed in the order in which the utilisation references are received. The documents are currently checked within one month. Please refrain from enquiring about the processing status. If it is discovered during the review that documents are missing or requirements have not been met, there is the possibility of rectification. In this case, you will receive a notification in the funding portal with a request to upload the necessary evidence within a reasonable period of time.

Once the review of an application has been completed, a notification will be issued. The funding will be paid out eight to ten weeks after receipt of the funding decision.

Questions & Answers

plug-in solar devices (also known as balcony power stations or mini PV systems) are small photovoltaic systems that convert sunlight into electricity and can be installed by non-professionals.

Simply set up the photovoltaic modules, connect them to the inverter, plug them into the socket and solar energy can be used immediately for the household.

Tenants need the landlord's or landlady's permission to install balcony power plants on railings or facades, while flat owners must obtain the consent of the homeowners' association.

The operator must register with the grid operator and the market master data register themselves.

The application authorisation applies to private individuals who have their main or secondary residence in the city of Munich.

The applicant must be resident in the residential unit in which the appliance is installed and connected to the household grid.

investment costs include the purchase price of the appliance and the costs for installation and fixing.

Depending on whether the person receiving the subsidy is entitled to deduct input tax, the gross or net costs apply. If VAT is shown on the invoice, it is included in the eligible costs.

no, we do not need your consent from the landlord or the condominium.

After submitting the application, the applicant receives the message "The measure(s) applied for may be commissioned" via the funding portal.

The device may only be purchased and installed once this message has been received. The device must be put into operation and the documents (proof of use) uploaded within one year.

It is not possible to extend the term of the application. In the case of joint applications for the "plug-in solar devices" and "photovoltaic systems" measures, a period of three years applies.

Yes, if the storage unit was purchased together with the balcony power station, the costs for the storage unit are included in the eligible costs. A maximum of 50 per cent of the eligible costs are subsidised.

The inverter of a balcony system may have a maximum output of 800 watts, which means that the system can feed in a maximum of 800 watts.

The subsidy rate relates to the output of the modules. A maximum output of 800 W is subsidised.

Moving within the city of Munich is not detrimental, the appliance can be taken with you.

If the appliance remains in the flat and is sold to the next tenant, the next tenant is obliged to continue operating the appliance.

Moving out of the city area is detrimental and will result in a pro rata reclaim of the subsidy amount. You are obliged to report this to us!
