Notification of irregularities under waste legislation
If you notice that waste (including scrap vehicles) is being incorrectly handled, stored or deposited on private property, you can report it here.
Course description
If waste is not disposed of correctly, there are problems. Disposing of waste correctly means putting it in the rubbish bin, collecting it for recycling or taking it to a recycling centre.
However, some people simply throw their waste into the countryside or store it on property without authorisation. This is prohibited. Such waste can be dangerous for people, animals and the environment.
Anyone who intentionally or negligently treats or disposes of waste illegally is committing an administrative offence under Section 69 (1) No. 2 KrWG. This can be punished with a fine of up to 100,000 euros.
The private incineration of waste is also prohibited. The ban on incineration also applies to garden waste such as tree and shrub cuttings or leaves in the city of Munich. Garden waste can be disposed of in the organic waste bin. It is also possible to compost it in your own garden or, for larger quantities, dispose of it at a recycling centre.
Prerequisites
The Department for Climate and Environmental Protection is responsible for waste and rubbish offences on private property in Munich. It enforces the proper disposal of waste on private property.
Waste and rubbish that affects public thoroughfares(e.g. public roads, footpaths, cycle paths and roadside greenery) is dealt with by the Building Department.
If waste is deposited in the area of recycling islands, the waste disposal companies commissioned by the dual systems are responsible.
In the event of offences against the ban on feeding pigeons, please contact the district administration department.
In the case of offences outside the Munich city area, please contact the responsible district administration office.
