Taxi or hire car registration

Would you like to register or re-register a taxi or hire car for the first time? Then you must fulfil certain requirements.

Description

You have the option of reserving a special licence plate.
Vehicle registration services and dealers can only obtain their service directly from the vehicle registration authority (not from the commercial motor traffic department). The documents to be submitted may differ in this case.
If the vehicle is financed and you do not receive the original registration certificate part II and the EC declaration of conformity, the registration can only be carried out at the registration authority (not at Gewerblicher Kraftverkehr).

Prerequisites

  • You are registered with your place of business in Munich.
  • You already have German vehicle documents for the vehicle.
  • You have registered the taxi or hire car business.

Required documents

For new registrations:

  • Identity card or passport
  • For legal entities, companies and associations: Extract from the commercial or association register (not older than 3 years from issue) and business registration
  • For authorised representatives: written power of attorney (original) as well as ID of the authorised representative (original) and ID of the person granting the power of attorney (copy).
  • Declaration of consent from the vehicle owner that the vehicle tax circumstances may be disclosed to the authorised representative.
  • SEPA mandate of the vehicle owner/account holder (for purely electrically powered vehicles only required from 10 years of age)
  • eVB (electronic insurance confirmation), which also covers the risk of commercial passenger transport
  • EC Declaration of Conformity (COC) for vehicles with EC type approval
  • Registration certificate part II (previously vehicle registration document)

For change of address and re-registration additionally:

  • Registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)
  • old vehicle registration document (presentation of a ZB II not required)
  • changed business registration (business re-registration)
  • Test report or entry in the vehicle registration certificate regarding valid main inspection

For technical modifications:

  • Registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)
  • Registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document)
