Transfer of service driving licence
Anyone who has a service driving licence from the German armed forces, police or the Federal Border Guard can have this converted into a (civilian) driving licence.
Description
Notes on delivery/collection:
The driving licence is produced centrally by the Bundesdruckerei in Berlin. You will be notified in writing as soon as we have received it. You can collect the driving licence in person with your ID card or passport or authorise another person to do so (please bring a written power of attorney and your ID card/passport; the authorised person must also identify themselves).
You can apply in person or online.
Prerequisites
You are registered as having your main residence in Munich.

- Service driving licence
if you are no longer in active service, you will need a certificate of the issued (service) driving licence and the date of termination of employment - Driving licence (if available)
- only for old driving licences (grey or pink) that were not issued by the driving licence authority of the City of Munich:
Transcript of the file card, which you can request by telephone from the authority that issued your driving licence. From there, the file card copy should be sent directly to the driving licence authority in Munich.
