Environmental medical counselling

The Department of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine in the Health Department advises Munich citizens on environmental medical issues in accordance with the Health Service Act.

Description

Do you suspect that environmental conditions are causing you health problems? Or are you concerned that specific pollutants are having an impact on your health? Then you can contact us by phone, e-mail or post and describe your problem.

We will be happy to advise you by telephone as to whether there could be a connection between your complaints and certain environmental pollution or pollutants. Please give us your telephone number, as your questions can best be explained in a personal conversation.

We can also give you information on where you can go for further clarification. If you require further information material, we will provide you with this or tell you where you can find it. Selected information material can be found at the bottom of this page.
As a health authority, we do not carry out any measurements or assessments ourselves. If you would like to arrange measurements (e.g. of indoor air pollutants) or an expert opinion, you can use the
IHK's directory of experts to search for measuring institutes and building biologists (search term e.g. "indoor pollutants"). You will find the link below.

Irrespective of our advice, you should always have physical complaints clarified by a registered (specialist) doctor. Even the actual detection of pollutants in your environment cannot replace a medical diagnosis.

Please note that medical examinations and treatments (diagnostics and therapy) or advice on legal issues are not part of our counselling services.
