Debut funding in the field of dance
If you are at the beginning of your professional career and would like to realise your first projects in the field of dance, you can apply for a debut grant.
Description
The City of Munich awards annual debut grants for a specific work project in the field of dance.
The aim of debut funding is to support initial professional work projects. The target group is artists of all age groups who have demonstrated that they pursue a high-quality and independent artistic approach as part of or at the end of their professional training or through an equivalent reference.
The funding is generally endowed with up to 20,000 euros each and is linked to a specific work project, whereby a performance does not necessarily have to be the conclusion of the project.
Information on submitting an application
Information on how to apply, the required documents, the procedure, the composition of the jury and answers to frequently asked questions can be found under " Links & Downloads" in the documents "Information on debut funding and individual project funding in the field of dance and theatre" and "Information on the online application".
In principle, applications can be submitted in the previous year until 1 June.
Applications for 2026 can be submitted until 23:59 on 2 June 2025, as the deadline this year falls on a Sunday.
