Trainee teachers may only commence their preparatory service if they have first undergone a medical examination to determine their health suitability.
Course description
Trainee teachers may only commence their preparatory service if they have first undergone a medical examination by a public health officer to assess their fitness for the preparatory service and for appointment as a civil servant on a revocable basis, and, in certain circumstances, for appointment as a civil servant on a probationary basis and for life.

- Please enclose the following documents with your application:

- Please refrain from making telephone enquiries regarding appointment bookings.

- the order from the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs for the official medical assessment. You can find this order on the forms server of the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs.

Questions & Answers
In principle, the same strict confidentiality regulations apply to medical officers as to doctors providing treatment. The medical reports prepared by the department are limited to a summarised assessment of the examination with close reference to the questions posed in the order. The clients therefore only receive the examination results that they need for their personnel decisions. Everything that goes beyond this (e.g. diagnosis, own and external findings) remains in our records and is subject to medical confidentiality and data protection regulations.
