Juvenile court assistance

Juvenile court assistance counsels, accompanies and cares for delinquent young people from the age of 14 and adolescents in juvenile court proceedings.

Service:

  • Counselling, support and care for juvenile and adolescent offenders and their families before, during and after the investigation or criminal proceedings (employees of the juvenile court assistance service)
  • Carrying out social training courses for juvenile and adolescent offenders and victim-offender mediation. (Employees of the outpatient measures of the juvenile court assistance centre)
  • The youth welfare centre at the police headquarters in Ettstraße (Haftentscheidungshilfe) provides assistance for young people in custody. (§ 72 a JGG)

The staff of the juvenile court assistance service advise, accompany and support juvenile and adolescent offenders and their families before, during and after the investigation or criminal proceedings, and the staff of the outpatient measures of the juvenile court assistance service organise social training courses for juvenile and adolescent offenders as well as victim-offender mediation. Participation in the social training course (§ 10 Para. 1 No. 6 JGG) or victim-offender mediation (§§ 45 Para. 2 and 47 Para. 2, § 10 Para. 1 No. 7) is imposed by the juvenile court or the public prosecutor's office. The youth welfare centre at the police headquarters in Ettstraße (Haftentscheidungshilfe) provides assistance for young people on remand (§ 72 a JGG).
