Sale of firewood

Description

After consultation with the responsible forester, there are two ways of sawing firewood in the municipal forests and obtaining it yourself.

1. two to four metre long logs lying on the forest road, which you drive out of the forest yourself with a trailer.
2. Residual material from tree crowns or felled trees from maintenance thinnings. You cut this yourself in the forest with a chainsaw and transport the wood out of the forest (so-called self-cut firewood).

Please note:

If you work with a chainsaw in the municipal forest, you must wear appropriate protective clothing and comply with the generally applicable accident prevention regulations (UVV). In addition, proof of a chainsaw training certificate for self-cutting firewood is required.

Possible titles for this certificate are

• Chainsaw safety course,
• Basic course for chainsaw operators,
• Chainsaw training course,
• Chainsaw licence.

The municipal forestry administration does not offer chainsaw training courses!

Chainsaw training courses are organised by various providers, e.g. Stihl, Dekra Akademie, various DIY stores (OBI, Hagebaumarkt etc.), various tree nurseries.

It is important that the chainsaw owner has attended a course to learn how to use the chainsaw correctly and that all accident prevention regulations are observed.
