Course description

Authorisation is also required for measures on the exterior of buildings that are located in ensembles or in the vicinity of monuments or ensembles. A licence is also required for excavations in the vicinity of ground monuments.

Whether a building is a listed building, in an ensemble, in the vicinity of a listed building / ensemble or a ground monument is affected by a planned excavation can be found in the list of listed buildings from the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments: https://geoportal.bayern.de/denkmalatlas/

You must apply in writing for a licence under monument protection law using the form below. In the case of a building permit procedure, the building permit generally replaces the listed building permit: a separate permit application is not necessary in this case. This does not apply to permits for excavation work in the area of ground monuments: In this case, a separate application for permission under monument protection law must be submitted in addition to the planning permission.

• Timetable for the realisation of the measure
• In the case of excavations in the heritage area: site plans with specific illustrations of the planned excavation work
• Information on previous consultations with the monument protection and / or building authorities
