Registration of an animal transport of equidae
An official veterinary health certificate must be carried for horses and other equidae during cross-border transport. You must submit an application for this.
Description
Equidae require an official veterinary health certificate for cross-border transport. Equidae are horses or equine animals such as donkeys and mules. In the following, the term "horse" is used for all equidae.
The application for the health certificate must be made at least three days before departure. Please use the online form for this purpose.
Once the documents have been received and checked, the responsible official veterinarian will contact you. Within 48 hours before departure, an official veterinary inspection will take place on site to determine, among other things, the state of health and fitness for transport of the horse or horses. The equine passport is required for this. The certificate will then be issued to you.
The certificate is valid for ten days from the date of issue.
Prerequisites
You can only use the online form to apply for certificates for horses that are located in the city of Munich (see "Questions & Answers").
The horse must have been in the Munich city area for at least 14 days at the time of the examination. Otherwise, a preliminary certificate or TRACES certificate from the veterinary office responsible for the previous location must be submitted.
The persons involved in the process (animal owner, transporter) or companies and facilities (transport company, stable) must be registered in the TRACES NT database.
