Register/deregister a leased or financed vehicle

If you have a leased or financed vehicle, you must observe the following before we can process your request.

Description

  • If you have requested your registration certificate part 2 from the bank or leasing company, you can check here whether the registration office has it: Request registration certificate part 2

If the enquiry is positive, make an appointment under the desired service.

  • If you already have the registration certificate part 2 in your hands, you can make an appointment online under the desired service:
    Vehicle has never been registered
Vehicle was / is already registered in Munich
Vehicle was / is registered outside Munich in Germany
Vehicle is being re-registered in the name of the same owner
  • If the registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document) is still with the bank or leasing company, you must request it there and then have it sent to the vehicle registration office. Please point out to the bank/leasing company that the intended use and the owner of the vehicle must be clearly recognisable in the letter to the vehicle registration office. You will need the chassis number and/or the number of the registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document) or the previous licence plate number when you go to the registration office. We can only process your request once we have received the registration certificate part II.

You do not need the registration certificate part II for a change of address within Munich.

Prerequisites

If you do not have the Registration Certificate Part II and the CoC / EC Certificate of Conformity for your leased / financed vehicle to hand, these documents must be sent by your bank / dealer to the

Registration Office Munich
Eichstätter Str. 2
80686 Munich

by your bank / dealer. This is the only place where you can obtain this service.
