Revocation of a lost or stolen identity card or passport

If your lost or stolen ID card or passport turns up, please inform your Citizens Office immediately.

All lost or stolen identity documents are entered in the police's Inpol search to prevent misuse. The Citizens Office, in co-operation with the police, must delete the wanted notice as soon as the ID card has been recovered.

You can notify your Citizens Office in writing or visit them in person. If the online ID function was activated on your ID card before it was lost, you will have to go in person to reactivate it after it has been blocked.
