ICT card (intra-corporate transfer)

The ICT card is a temporary residence permit for intra-company transfers throughout Europe.

Description

The ICT card enables managers, specialists or trainees to work in a German branch for a certain period of time

Visa procedure
If you belong to a third country ( not the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland), you generally need a visa to enter the country for the purpose of employment, which must be applied for at the German diplomatic mission abroad.

After entering the country
You must first register your place of residence at the Citizens Office.

Application for an ICT card
You must apply for an ICT card before your visa/residence permit expires.
Please submit the application form and the required documents online or by post. Once we have checked your application, you will receive an appointment for a personal interview.

Period of validity
The ICT card is valid for the duration of the transfer, but for a maximum of three years (trainees: one year) and may be subject to the approval of the Federal Employment Agency.
However, the total stay in Germany may not exceed one year for trainees.
