Questions & Answers
The ‘Objectives and Criteria for Neighbourhood Culture’ and the funding criteria set out by the Department of Culture clearly outline the aspects that must be taken into account for an event to be classified as a cultural event.
The event must have a connection to Munich – for example, through the organisers, themes or target audiences. Unfortunately, events held outside Munich are not eligible for funding.
No, a funded cultural event must be politically neutral.
Yes, staff costs, fees and material costs can all be claimed in the funding application.
Unfortunately not: the funding application must include a detailed breakdown of all costs. If any items change during the course of the project, an updated cost estimate must be submitted. Please also include any third-party funding applied for elsewhere in the cost estimate!
Unfortunately not: Funding can only be applied for projects whose implementation is planned for the period following the grant approval.
Yes: It is important that the Department of Culture of the City of Munich is named as the funding body on all press and promotional materials, as well as on the website, etc. This must include the logo “City of Munich Department of Culture” and the following sentence: “Funded by the Department of Culture of the City of Munich”.
Please complete the ‘Statement of Expenditure’ form, setting out your actual expenditure and income, and write a brief report on the progress and success of your project. We would also appreciate receiving copies of leaflets, screenshots of social media posts, press cuttings or similar materials.
