Course description

With the online ID function, you can identify yourself on the Internet and at vending machines. This makes it easier for you to communicate with online shops, banks, insurance companies, authorities, social networks and companies and you no longer have to memorise so many passwords and user names. An activated online ID function PIN is required to be able to identify yourself online.

If your online ID function is not yet activated and/or you can no longer find your PIN letter or have forgotten your PIN, you can contact the Service Centre for Immigration and Naturalisation.

Prerequisites

The eID with the PIN for the use of eID services can only be activated if your identity has been verified.

You have a valid electronic residence permit (eAT) and

• have your main place of residence in the City of Munich and
• are at least 16 years old and
• have a valid national passport or passport substitute

Please do not book an appointment if one of the following applies to you:

• You have a travel document without a national passport (blue/grey) or
• Your eAT (electronic residence permit) has expired or
• You have an eAT (electronic residence permit) as a substitute for an identity document

Required documents

• Valid passport or passport substitute
• Valid eAT (electronic residence permit)

If you have an expired residence permit in card form, you must hand it in at your appointment.
