Training programme for teachers and educators

If you are a teacher or educator at an educational institution, you can register for our international training and exchange programmes.

Description

With the City of Munich's international training programme, you can continue your intercultural education. You have the opportunity to take part in various exchange programmes and further develop educational topics with our international partners.
Through the training seminars, exchange trips and exchange programmes, you will intensify your understanding of different education and training systems. You will familiarise yourself with the social structures and values of the exchange country and work closely with colleagues from other cultures.
The stay abroad usually takes place during the Bavarian school holidays. The return visits to Munich usually take place outside the school holidays.

Prerequisites

  • You are a teacher or educator at an educational institution in the Munich city area.
  • You are interested in the international dimension of education and would like to act as a multiplier in your institution.
  • You are open-minded and have intercultural competences or would like to expand them.
  • You have the authorisation of the management of your educational institution.

Required documents

  • Register online via the training programme.
  • You will receive an application form from us, which you fill in with details of your motivation and your management's authorisation.
  • If your application is successful, you may need an approved application for a training trip in order to participate. You must clarify this with your department.

Processing time

After registering online via our training programme, you will immediately receive an automatic confirmation of receipt with further information on the application process.

Fees

Counselling is free of charge.
The amount of funding and costs depend on the programme in question. In some cases, personal contributions may be required. Please refer to the relevant programme details. These can be found in our educational programme.

Questions & Answers

What is the education programme?
The education programme is the further and continuing education programme offered by the Pedagogical Institute - Centre for Municipal Education Management for teaching and educational staff. It includes all information on programmes in Germany and abroad. You can use the search function to find a suitable programme. We would also be happy to advise you personally.

Who can take part in the programme?
The programme is open to all teachers and educators in the Munich city area. If your educational institution does not belong to the city of Munich, you can participate as an external participant under certain conditions, depending on the programme. Please take this into account in the respective programme description.

Does participation in the programme count as further training?
Yes, the international training programmes serve to fulfil the annual training requirement.
If the training programme is in Germany, you will receive a certificate of attendance from us. This training can also count towards fulfilment of the annual training requirement.

Does participation in the programme take place during my working hours?
As most international programmes take place during school holidays, you must apply to your department for a training trip. Programmes in Germany take place during working hours.
