Hygiene monitoring of the pools

The health department monitors the pool water quality and general hygiene requirements in public and commercial swimming pools in the city.

Description

The Health Department of the City of Munich is responsible for monitoring pool water quality and general hygiene requirements in the approximately 110 public swimming pools in the city of Munich. The monitoring mandate includes involvement in the planning of new swimming pool construction, the initial inspection of swimming pools including subsequent routine monitoring, advising operators on pool hygiene issues and dealing with complaints from bathers.

The public swimming pools (SWM), commercial swimming pools and school swimming pools are inspected regularly and on an ad hoc basis with regard to hygiene.

Complaints about unhygienic conditions in public or commercial pools are investigated accordingly.
