Description

The spread of notifiable infectious diseases should be prevented by, among other things, providing comprehensive information to those affected.

  • Counselling private individuals and private households regarding infection risks, infection prevention and measures.
  • Counselling of community facilities such as kindergartens, schools, hospitals and retirement homes as part of the investigation of infection risks, hygiene measures, etc.
  • Advice on gastrointestinal infections caused by viruses such as noroviruses, rotaviruses or bacteria such as salmonella, campylobacter, EHEC, advice on influenza, measles, meningococci.
  • Initial counselling on lice and streptococcal infections etc.
  • Telephone consultation with citizens on the occasion of our letter regarding a reported infectious disease.

Urgent cases at the weekend, such as reports of meningococcal meningitis, diphtheria, anthrax, plague, Ebola or Lassa virus infections, can be forwarded to the doctors on duty at the public health department via the integrated emergency control centre (Tel.: 112).
