If you would like to develop your conceptual or methodological skills as an actor in cultural education, you can apply for this scholarship.
Description
Cultural education should enable people to take part in cultural life, to participate and to actively and creatively shape their own living environment.
Munich already has a long tradition of cultural education and a wide range of programmes. The Cultural Education Scholarship enables the creators of cultural education projects to pause, reflect, develop themselves further, think outside the box and conduct research, as well as to take time to deal with overarching issues independently of the project.
The scholarship is intended to support the following projects in particular:
- Researching and addressing socially relevant issues in cultural education in practice, theory and research, such as promoting diversity and inclusion, countering classism, stimulating participatory educational processes, et cetera.
- Dealing with thematic issues and methodological procedures relating to your own (educational) work, e.g. developing working and educational methods, trialling artistic research, reflecting on processes, etc
- Further development of existing approaches in the research field of cultural education
- Development of quality assurance measures for their own practice, for example through evaluations, supervision, interviews or the creation of materials
- Testing work processes and transformation processes in the field of cultural education with the help of experiments, surveys or observations, for example with the aim of opening up new and more diverse target groups, initiating collaborations or developing sustainable concepts for cooperation
- Expert exchanges and research trips to promote dialogue and knowledge transfer
- Networking, contact and work meetings with institutions and stakeholders from the fields of culture, education and social affairs, participation in network meetings
- Professional development, such as participation in further training or in local, national and/or international professional exchanges as well as research trips or work shadowing (including abroad)
The scholarship is awarded biennially. The next call for applications will take place in 2026 for the year 2027.
