Description

Literary event series are indispensable for the promotion of literature and networking within the city as well as in the national scene. They are a springboard and stage for up-and-coming artists and enable innovative forms of presentation/reception of literature. In order to support the growing number of free literary initiatives and independent reading series even more, the City of Munich has been funding "traditional and new reading and event series" with an additional budget since 2022. This includes festival and interdisciplinary formats such as poetry slams. Series that already receive a fixed grant or project funding from the city can only be considered if they apply with additional events.

Prerequisites

• The events in the series must take place in Munich (S-Bahn area).
• The planned series consists of at least two events in the year of the call.
• The individual events have not yet received any other funding from the City of Munich.

Legal basis

By submitting an application, applicants declare their agreement with the terms and conditions of the competition. Applications that do not comply with the terms and conditions cannot be considered.

If documents are submitted by post, the Department of Culture accepts no liability for the documents sent in. The application documents cannot be returned. If explicitly requested, they can be collected from the Cultural Department after the decision on the award has been made.
