... an EU project by the Office for Repatriation Assistance, is sponsored by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, AMIF, and the Bavarian State Office for Asylum and Repatriation.

Coming Home supports refugees, asylum seekers and third-country nationals who are obliged to depart to return voluntarily and to reintegrate sustainably in their home countries.

Special focus on vulnerable groups is important - members of minorities, single mothers, former unaccompanied minor refugees, traumatised people as well as elderly and ill individuals and disabled persons.

Coming Home offers detailed counselling and information, assistance to prepare and organize the departure, financial aid, qualification courses, support for business start-ups and, if necessary, further support after departure.

Since its start in May 1996, the Office for Repatriation Assistance has supported more than 15.000 people to return voluntarily to their home countries. Around 7.000 people have benefited from the offers of the Coming Home project, which started in 2000. EU funding enabled the Office for Repatriation Assistance to expand its range of counselling and assistance. Quality standards and further training courses for counselling have been developed and international cooperations have been intensified.

... is regarded nationwide as a best practice example, in the area of "return counselling and reintegration assistance" and contributes to the qualification of counsellors and the expansion of counselling services in Germany by organising symposiums and seminars.

The counselling and assistance offered by Coming Home is available for people in the city of Munich and the surrounding districts: Munich, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Miesbach, Starnberg and Weilheim-Schongau.
